     It is with immense pleasure that I welcome you to the West Bengal Police home page. This home page aims at maximum public interface along with being highly informative.
    On assumption of charge as Director General of Police, West Bengal, I convey my best wishes and warm greetings to the people of West Bengal and to all the members of West Bengal Police and their families .
       The challenges of modern policing in the new age need both professional response and humane orientation. The citizens remain the main focus of our policing and service delivery. Police-public interface will be made more effective by making the police accessible to the citizens and responsive to their grievances. I assure that every member of West Bengal Police force will give his / her best to provide an atmosphere of safety and security in the State.

West Bengal Police on Top of the Mount Everest

    Shri Rudra Prassad Haldar (39), member of West Bengal Police force, presently posted as Wireless Operator in the district of South 24 Parganas has not only achieved personal glory for himself but has

also brought pride to the entire West Bengal Police Force and the State as a whole by successfully scaling the world's highest mountain peak "The Mount Everest" on 21.05.2016 at 05.24 AM and returned to base camp safely on 23.05.2016.

   With the active support of the State Government, West Bengal Police and "Sonarpur Arohi", the mission "Mount Everest" led by Shri Rudra Prassad Haldar set out on 07.04.2016 from Kolkata and brought laurels to the Nation. His earlier attempt to scale Mount Everest flagged off by Shri GMP Reddy, IPS, DG & IGP, WB back in 2015 faced devastating earthquake after reaching Lobuche (E) (6091 Mtrs).

   Shri Rudra Prassad Haldar has an excellent mountaineering track record which began in 2000 with basic course at he Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. Since then Rudra has never looked back and has earned one accolade after another. DG & IGP WB, and all ranks of WBP Force wish him further glories in days to come.
